People that fall into the category of sensitive skin should avoid using the following products if at all possible, avoid any type of soap with a fragrance, especially on the face. Look for soap-free cleansers and mild cleansing bars, these will cause less irritation. The more natural the soap the better off you will be. Glycerin soaps are great.

Here are a couple of home recipes for face washes. This is an Oatmeal and Yogurt cleanser that you make by mixing one half cup of oatmeal and yogurt together into a paste. Put the paste on your face; leaving it for approximately five minutes. Now, wash off the paste with cool water.

This is a cucumber and yogurt cleanser. Begin by grating a small cucumber. Mix the cucumber with one half cup of yogurt and three tablespoons of beaten curd. Mix well and apply the paste to the face. Leave on for five minutes, and then rinse off with cool water.

There are several natural product suppliers online that have natural glycerin soap with aloe, and they also have all natural shampoos available. Not only are these soaps completely natural, but they also come completely unscented. For anyone with sensitive skin this is recommended.

Moisturizers and makeup are not going to be natural products, so choose wisely. Purchase non-pore blocking products whenever possible. They are available, and they are much better for skin that has a tendency to be sensitive and skin that has other issues as well. Avoid putting alcohol on the face at any time; this will never do anything except take out valuable moisture and close pores with dirt in them.

A wardrobe change may be something to think about if you have extremely sensitive skin. The type of fabrics that are being worn could be affecting the amount of irritation that is being experienced. Cotton and silk are the best fabrics to wear. They are both natural fabrics, and absorbent as well. Rayon and linen are also fine, but they are heavier.

Just because a product says hypoallergenic does not make it better for sensitive skin. There are no standards that govern it currently by the FDA. It really could mean anything.

Use good natural products that are available. To take the best care of your face, it is best to wash it twice daily; morning and night. Keep your skin moisturized year round, either with sunscreen in the summer, or with a natural lotion in the winter. Try to avoid added stress, because this will only increase sensitive skin issues.
